The National Sale was, under the seasonal and market conditions, an outstanding success. The top price in the Bull section was $32,000 twice, with an average of $9,476 and a 92% clearance. In the female section, the top price was $7,500, with an average of $4,750 and an 80% clearance.
The top price of $32,000 was first reached early in the sale with lot 14, Chasewater Browning, a 28-month polled sire offered by Society President Stuart Dingle of Chasewater Brafords, Mt. Perry. It was purchased by Clayton and Sam Moger of Triple S Brafords, Capella. Second to achieve the equal top price was lot 46, MCN Olympus, offered by MCN Brafords, Bell, and was purchased by Ascot-Neiman Brafords of Banana. The second top in the Bull section was $30,000 for lot 32, Strathgyle Salvador, offered by the McNamara Family, Bell. It was purchased by Scott and Robyn Morgan of Moreland Brafords, Walkerston.
In the Female section, the top price of $7,500 was achieved for lot 96, Chadwick Downs Favour T029, bred by the Chadwick Downs Braford Stud of Coonabarabran. It was purchased by Mac and Liam Kenny of Abernathy Brafords, Gayndah.
Coacher cattle for the sale were provided by the Elliott family of Big House Brafords, Balallan, and the sale was opened by John Ellrott.
At the pre-sale function on Sunday evening at the Gracemere Hotel, the Pacholke Family of Sunny Lawn Brafords were presented with a plaque for 50 years of stud breeding.
