The seventh annual Charleville Bull Sale was held at the Charleville Showgrounds on the 12th October 2011, where a good gathering of regular clients as well as a number of new buyers attended. The sale date was moved forward a month, which resulted in a very pleasant spring day. The Christmas family offered twelve Braford bulls, topping at $4,000 to achieve a 99% clearance.
Roma grazier, Brendan Fitzgerald purchased the top priced Braford bull, Arran 2701. At just 22 months of age, this young sire recorded a fat score of 18/14mm, EMA of 141sq cm with 85% motility semen test. These excellent figures were very representative of the Arran draft. Other new buyers included, Shaun Ahern, JB Cattle Co and John Hays. Regular clients and long time Braford breeders, Dave & Josephine Robson, `Mt View` Morven secured 4 bulls.
