The 2026 Elite Braford Breeders Heifer Sale at Gayndah again highlighted the strong demand being seen for quality Braford females, with averages lifting an impressive 51 per cent on the previous year.
Despite a larger catalogue, demand remained very solid throughout the sale, with 50 of 54 heifers sold to average $5,206 and top at $15,000. This compares to the 2025 sale, where 38 heifers sold to average $3,428 and topped at $7,500.
The standout of the sale was Carinya 3750 (pictured), a 19-month-old daughter of Carinya Apollo offered by the Amor family, Carinya Brafords, Dulacca, which sold for $15,000 to Russell, Donna and Bec Kenny, Harriett Valley, Gayndah.
The Amor family made an outstanding debut at the sale, with their draft of five females averaging $10,000.

The registered section remained particularly strong, with 38 of 42 stud females averaging $5,829, while all 12 commercial females sold to average $3,233 and topped at $6,000.
Buyer support was broad, with activity from both Queensland and New South Wales, reinforcing ongoing confidence in well-bred Braford females suited to northern production systems, particularly those offering fertility, softness, structure and commercial function.
Overall, the sale confirmed continued confidence in productive, commercially relevant Braford females performing strongly across both stud and commercial sectors.
