Elite Braford Breeders Sale Report Gayndah

Femininity, Fertility and Braford Futurity was the mission of the day

Peter Dingle from Mount Perry officially declared the 2nd Elite Braford Breeders Sale Day open. Once again it was a fabulous day in many ways: Great community promotion for Gayndah to host a cattle sale with cattle bidding from as far away as the Emerald, Rockhampton, Warwick and Casino NSW.
“This year’s sale results were better than last years with an increase in average price per head and the overall quality of the line-up of PTIC, registered and commercial heifers was very good. This is what every beef seed stock producer strives for and this was reflected by a $2,250 increase in the top price from last year and an overall increase in heifer sale average price by $703. The top priced registered and commercial heifers were sold by Harriett Valley Brafords, Russell, Donna, Bec, Jeff and Dan Kenny from Gayndah. The top priced registered Heifer, Harriett Valley Victoria (p) sold for $8,000 to Jason Phillips Toowoomba. The top priced Commercial heifer, Harriett Valley 83 (p) sold for $7,000 to Larry and Beth Acton, Riverton Gracemere.

“It is always wonderful to see so many of the next generation little cattle kids at the sale too. They are our future for sustainable agricultural and forestry production. On that note I would like to thank Agforce QLD for sponsoring a fabulous morning tea provided by Down Right Delicious Catering and for the Gayndah State School for cooking up a great BBQ lunch for all the vendors. The whole community benefits from events like this.”

Congratulations to all the Vendors: Stuart and Janelle Dingle, Chase water Mt Perry; Art and Ness Bambling, Penwhaupell Gayndah; Jill and Dan Galloway, Ascot Neimen Brafords Banana; Mal and Sandra Kenny and Boys, Abernethy Brafords Gayndah; Russell, Donna, Bec, Jeff and Dan Kenny, Harriett Valley Brafords Gayndah; Julianne Munn and Glen Hanson, Dark Patches Glastonbury; Peter Parnell, Coograli Brafords, Maleny and the Webster Family, Goomora Brafords Gympie.

Thank you to our all our sponsors and guest sponsor Wendy Pfeffer from Rabobank and Adrianna Potts from Virbac Mundubbera were also in attendance. Many thanks to the Jordan family from Norco with sponsorship and a great price for the new selling ring and for the Dingle family for supplying labour and equipment.

Congratulations to Greg, Lyn, Lee and Shelly Webster from Goomboorian, Gympie on celebrating 3 generations of Websters, 50 years to Goomora Braford Stud breeding. Thank you to Jill Galloway who presented a beautiful award, accepted on behalf of the family by Greg. Last year the Webster family had a personal best selling Goomora Falcon for $30,000 at the National Sale to the Comerford Brothers, Turrawulla Nebo. Best wishes in your future endeavours from the Australian Braford Society family.
